Panamanian filmfest to screen Iran’s ‘House of Fortune’

The 8th edition of the Panamanian International Film Festival in Los Angeles (PIFF/LA) has been scheduled to screen Iranian short ‘House of Fortune’.

Directed by Adel Mashouri, the 16-minute Iranian flick will go on the PIFF/LA on October 10 to compete with titles from the US, Panama, Argentina, Mexico, Ecuador, Chile, Guatemala, Brazil, Venezuela, and Canada.

‘House of Fortune’ tells the story of a young girl who falls in a huge trouble on the night of her wedding.

The PIFF/LA has been designed to cast the spotlight on the emerging film industry in Panama and Central America.

It features works by up-and-coming filmmakers from the area as well as visual arts, musical and even culinary samples from the region.

The 2021 edition of the PIFF/LA has been slated for October 7-10 at Hollywood’s Raleigh Studios.
